Development report from Stan Sprague the Chairman of the National Development Committee.

1.    One of the goals for each zone is to conduct a zone wide coaches clinic.  We talked briefly on this subject, but no date or place has been determined.
2.    2 meter and Goalkeeper camp:  The camp is a 4 day camp to be held this summer in Colorado Springs.  The camp is for one female and male 2m player, and one coach, and one female and male goalkeeper and a coach from each zone.  We discussed how our zone should select the coach and athletes to represent our zone.  We decided that we would have our own 2 meter and goalkeeper camps here in Southern California.  This camp is open for any female or male player that has remaining High School elgibility that brings a coach with them to the camp.  The 2 meter camp will be run by Jim Sprague, and the Goalkeeper camp will be run by Stan Sprague.  The camp is tentatively scheduled for Saturday May 19th.  The location of this camp will be announced later.  The participants from our zone for the National camp in Colorado will be selected from the 2 zone camps (2m and Gk).  The zone coaches that are selected to go to the National Camp will be required to give a report of his findings during our Zone coaches clinic to be held later this year.
3.    Christmas Camp:  The development committee runs a camp in Colorado Springs in December.  This camp is for Female and Male athletes 12 to 13 years old.  The selection of our zone representatives comes from our fall age group leagues.  More information will be announced later on this camp.
