United States Water Polo is beginning the selection process for the 2001 National Youth Girls Water Polo Team.  The National Team will be selected from athletes participating at a National Selection Tournament of Zone teams from each of the USWP Zones.  That tournament will be held at the Los Alamitos National Training Center from

June28-July1 2001.  Southern Pacific Zone athletes will qualify two teams for participation in that event.  These two teams will be selected from evaluation of athletes at a Zone tournament of teams from 8 different areas of the Southern Pacific Zone on

May 27,2001. 

Following is the information you will need:

 

Southern Pacific Zone area team tryouts will be held Sunday, April 8, 2001 at the locations and times listed below.  These tryouts will result in the selection of the eight area teams for the Zone tournament of May 27,2001.

 

• Must be born in 1983 or later.
• Must be USWP registered.  Bring proof of membership or a completed registration form and check for $35 payable to USWP to the trial.
• Must pay tryout fee--$25 Check made payable to SPWP.  Bring to first tryout in your area on April 8, 2001.
• If selected to the area team, must be available for the Southern Pacific Zone Selection Tournament on May 27, 2001.  Two teams of 13 athletes each will be selected from this tournament to participate in the National Youth Selection Tournament at Los Alamitos on June 28-July 1.
